Constellation Brands' December 2016 8-K exhibit filed with the SEC records the completed sale of its Canadian wine business, including Jackson-Triggs, Inniskillin, wineries, vineyards and the Wine Rack stores, to the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan for about C$1.03 billion. Corporations Canada shows Arterra Wines Canada, Inc. (1382004-1, CBCA, active) with its registered office at the Mississauga head office and its parent 9972137 Canada Inc. (997213-7, incorporated 2016-11-03) registered at 160 Front Street West, Suite 3200, Toronto, which is Ontario Teachers' own head office address, with Teachers' private capital staff among the directors; Teachers' major investments list as at December 31, 2025 still names Arterra Wines Canada, Inc. among its private companies over $250 million. The registry does not name the shareholder directly and no Ontario Business Registry check was possible, but the filing, the registry and the owner's own list agree, so profit accrues to a Canadian pension plan.

Canadian grapes come from 1,700 acres of owned vineyards and more than 50 contract growers in Ontario and British Columbia, and Growers cider uses apples from Canadian orchards, but the modern slavery report says the wineries also blend Canadian and imported wine and that bulk wine is imported from the United States, Spain and France, with raw materials and packaging procured from Canada and suppliers around the world. The International Canadian Blend brands that make up much of the volume can be mostly imported wine, and the owned import brands are entirely foreign-grown, so the split is an estimate that gives Canada half and spreads the balance across the named US and EU sources and the New Zealand, Australian and other bulk origins.
