Bimbo Canada is a wholly owned unit of Mexico's Grupo Bimbo, running 15 Canadian bakeries that make most of its Dempster's, Villaggio, POM, Bon Matin, Ben's and Vachon lines, while Takis and Little Bites arrive from Mexican and US sister plants. Ownership sits with a Mexican public company under Servitje family leadership, so a fully Canadian workforce and mostly Canadian wheat do not carry the composite far.

Bimbo Canada's own about page says it was purchased by Grupo Bimbo in May 2014. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. de C.V. is a Mexico City company traded on the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores as BMV:BIMBO and chaired by Daniel Servitje of the founding family, so control and profit sit in Mexico (OTHER). A Corporations Canada federal search for the operating entity, Canada Bread Company, returned no results, consistent with an Ontario-incorporated (not federal) entity; the Ontario registry itself is blocked to automation, so no CA minority stake could be checked.

Bimbo Canada operates 15 bakeries and 183 sales centres across Canada, which bake the Dempster's, Villaggio, POM, Bon Matin, Ben's and Vachon lines that dominate its shelf presence; its 2023 federal forced-labour supply-chain filing names Canada Bread Company (Ontario) and Natural Bakery (Manitoba) as producing goods in Canada. Takis is made by sister company Barcel in Mexico and Little Bites by Bimbo Bakeries USA (Entenmann's), both imported, so a small Mexico and US share is carried for those two lines. The split by country is our estimate weighted toward the bread portfolio, not a published revenue breakdown.

Dempster's retail listings advertise bread made with 'Canadian wheat flour', and wheat is the dominant ingredient for the bread lines that carry most of the shelf. The company's 2023 forced-labour supply-chain filing names palm, cocoa and sugar as key raw materials it monitors for human-rights risk, all imported tropical commodities feeding the Vachon and snack lines, and Takis' corn and chili are sourced through Barcel in Mexico. A smaller US share reflects Little Bites' US-made inputs. The exact split is our estimate, not a published number.
