The brand's own terms and footer say the GIBSON'S FINEST trademarks belong to William Grant & Sons Ltd, registered in Scotland with company number 131772, and Companies House confirms that company is an active private limited company at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown; Wikipedia and a 2002 trade report say William Grant bought the brand from Diageo in October 2002 and remains family-owned. Corporations Canada lists William Grant & Sons (Canadian Whisky) Limited, incorporated federally on 2002-08-28 with a director in Scotland and no individuals with significant control, which fits a wholly owned subsidiary. The Canadian trademarks database and the Scottish share register could not be read, so the brand-to-parent link rests on the vendor's statement and press, not a registry.

The LCBO product record for Rare 12 Year Old says made in Ontario, Canada, and the PMA Canada product page lists the country as Canada; Wikipedia and The CANADA List both place production at the Hiram Walker distillery in Windsor, Ontario, which Pernod Ricard owns. The brand's own site says only that the whiskies are aged and blended, never where, and the 2002 acquisition report had production at Barton's Valleyfield, Quebec plant, so the move to Windsor is press and directory reporting rather than a vendor statement.

The brand is run from Scotland but worked in Canada: William Grant & Sons (Canadian Distribution) Limited is directed from 1908 Ironoak Way in Oakville, the head office of PMA Canada Limited, the agency that represents Gibson's with a sales and marketing team of more than 170 across the country, and William Grant names a country marketing director for Canada. Distillery staff belong to Hiram Walker, not the brand, and the Canadian Whisky subsidiary's registered office in Toronto is a care-of address. The 60/40 split between Canadian brand, sales and marketing staff and the Dufftown parent is an estimate; no headcount for the brand is published.

The whiskies are blends of Canadian corn and rye spirit aged in barrels, and The CANADA List reports a corn, rye and barley grain bill that is mostly but not entirely Canadian-sourced; the brand publishes no supplier or origin information. The split is an estimate: grain, water and bottling to Canada, a US share for the used American oak barrels that Canadian whisky is normally aged in, and small EU and other shares for group services from the Scottish parent and imported packaging.
