Maison Riviera

Bpifrance's press release states its Fonds Build-up International invested alongside France's Coopérative Alsace-Lait (Hoerdt, France) as it became majority shareholder of Maison Riviera/Laiterie Chalifoux in October 2021; Maison Riviera's own history page confirms the Chalifoux family passed the brand to Alsace Lait that year. Both the majority owner and the minority co-investor are French entities. Corporations Canada and the Registraire des entreprises du Québec were not checked to confirm the exact share split.

All products are made at the Sorel-Tracy, Quebec plant, described by Bpifrance as Maison Riviera's historic production site and unchanged by the 2021 ownership change; the vendor's own know-how page says the same.

Single-site business: the workforce serving the Canadian brand is at the Sorel-Tracy, Quebec plant, which remained the operating base after the 2021 ownership change to the French cooperative.

The vendor states it uses 100% Canadian milk, DFC-certified and sourced directly from Dairy Farmers of Quebec, for its dairy and goat's-milk lines, which make up most of its seven product categories. The plant-based coconut yogourt line uses imported coconut; oats for the oat-based line are not sourced-country-specified but are commonly Canadian.
