Goldring of Metairie, Louisiana as having control in fact and two other Metairie individuals as indirect holders of more than 75% of the shares, with four of six directors at Sazerac's Louisville office. Brown-Forman's 10-K filings record the July 31, 2020 sale of the Canadian Mist and Collingwood brands and the Canadian Mist production assets to Sazerac Company, and the vendor describes itself as an independent, family-owned Louisiana corporation. Canadian Mist is distilled and warehoused in Collingwood, Ontario, and the Old Montreal Distillery has distilled Canadian whisky since 2018; Canadian whisky must by definition be distilled and aged in Canada, so the Seagram's brands are Canadian-made even though the vendor does not name their distillery.
