The vendor's own About page says Stash was acquired by Yamamotoyama, and Yamamotoyama U.S.A.'s About page says it acquired the Portland-based Stash Tea Company in 1993. Yamamotoyama Co., Ltd. is a private Tokyo company, so profit is allocated to Japan; the US Terms of Service name the operating entity as Universal Tea Company, Inc. d/b/a Stash Tea. Corporations Canada returns no federal corporation for Stash Tea, Universal Tea Company, or Yamamotoyama, no SEC filing exists because the parent is private, and the Oregon and California state registries were not checked.

Neither Stash site names its current blending plant. The FundingUniverse history says Yamamotoyama of America packed Stash tea in Los Angeles before buying the company, Yamamotoyama U.S.A. describes its SQF-accredited production facility in Pomona, California, and the Stash Terms of Service place Universal Tea Company at 122 Voyager Street, Pomona, so blending and packing are taken as US at 1.0. The CANADA List also records manufacturing as USA.

The vendor says it buys tea directly from the world's premier tea gardens and scours the earth for ingredients without naming countries; tea leaf is not grown commercially in the United States, so the leaf and most botanicals are placed in OTHER and a US share covers domestic herbs, compostable bags, and packaging. The split is an estimate. The Canadian storefront runs on Shopify.
