The vendor says it was established in 2017 by Denise Atkinson, an Anishinaabe woman, and her partner Marc H. Bohemier, and CBC Thunder Bay names the couple as the owners; no investor or parent is named anywhere. A federal Women Entrepreneurship Strategy quote on the vendor's news page says the programs allowed her to incorporate, but Corporations Canada returns no federal corporation for the name, so it is most likely an Ontario corporation, and the Ontario Business Registry could not be checked from this session.

For a tea company the product is the roast, the blend and the pack, and the vendor says it created and produces its wild rice and tea blends with a proprietary roasting process in Northwestern Ontario, with orders shipped from its own warehouse; CBC describes the company as dedicated to producing its own blends in Thunder Bay and madeinca.ca lists the manufacturing location as Thunder Bay. A few straight teas (sencha, bancha, hojicha, assam, earl grey) are bought finished from a Canadian importer and only packed here, but the vendor does not publish a revenue split, so the full Canadian allocation is this card's judgment.

A two-founder business run from Thunder Bay, Ontario, with its only posted job an NOHFC-funded internship that requires the hire to live in the Northern Ontario community where they are employed. No staff or offices outside Canada were found.

The wild rice is direct-sourced from Indigenous harvesters on lakes in Northwestern Ontario and is also sold on its own as 100 percent Canadian wild rice, but tea is not grown in Canada: the vendor says its tea and herbal infusions come through Canadian importers who buy from growers abroad, and its catalogue names Japanese green teas, Indian black tea and South African rooibos, all in the OTHER bucket. The 35 percent Canadian share reflects wild rice as the signature ingredient across the manoomin blends plus the plain wild rice product, and is this card's estimate rather than a published figure.
